{gabriel}: eleven months

Weight/height: he was 18lbs 1oz a couple weeks ago. Not sure about height.

Diapers/clothes: still rocking the size 4 baby dry diapers. He wears 9 month/6-12 month clothes and pjs.

Loves:
  • to eat
  • splashing in the bath or in the water table outside
  • getting into things he shouldn't
  • sucking his thumb
  • laughing
  • putting things into other things (ie: blocks into a container)

 Hates:
  • laying still to change his diaper
  • being told no
Eating: he still gets a big bottle (250-260mLs) before bed and when he wakes up. He also gets a bottle after each nap.

His favourite food is any kind of fruit, cheese, meat, crackers, ice cream.

Sleeping: still a pretty good sleeper! He goes to bed at 7pm and usually starts stirring around 5-6am, but we leave him until after 6am. He has been mainly taking two naps a day, with the occasional third one if the first two are short.

Scenes from the week + end

How was your long weekend? We had a fun one! Let's rewind to last week:

Monday: we met up with Brie and her kids at a park in Inglewood. The kids had fun playing and having a picnic, before we went to Luke's drugmart for some ice cream. They just changed over their flavour to one that tastes like Christmas- don't try it. Go for the vanilla! After our playdate, we headed home to spend time in the sprinkler and a trip to the park by our house.

Tuesday: Amelia had her class in the afternoon, so while she was at that, Gabe napped and I hung out in the sunshine reading my book. It was super hot that day, so we went to Cochrane to get some ice cream at McKay's.

Wednesday: Amelia was at the dayhome, so Gabe and I had a quiet day. I actually can't remember what we did.  It was another gorgeous evening, so we spent lots of time in the backyard after dinner.

Thursday: it was a rainy and dreary day, so I decided to go for an adventure. We took the c-train downtown to check out the firetruck at the central library. Amelia loved it! There was another boy about her age there, so they ended up playing together and going to the "emergencies" together.

Friday: a day full of errands and getting stuff done! In the evening, I met up with some of the ladies for birthday dinner for Ange and Brie at Wurst. Nice to get out of the house and have some girl talk.

Saturday: we packed up in the morning, and drove to Edmonton. In the afternoon, we went to watch Brian's friend play handball, and then we had dinner with his parents.

Sunday: in the morning, I took Harley for a hot 8km run. We had a fun day spent outside! My BIL/SIL and girls came over in the afternoon, and played all afternoon long. We had a wienie roast, which the girls loved. Amelia crashed hard at bedtime!

Scenes from the week + end

Happy Monday and happy belated Mother's day! I hope everyone has a nice day with your family and kid(s).

Monday we had a play date with a friend at the park. It kept sprinkling on and off on us, but luckily never poured. Not sure if it was because of the weather, but we had the park to ourselves for a while, which was nice!

On Tuesday, Amelia had her class. While she was there, Gabe napped and I read/relaxed for a while. After we picked her up, we headed to the park before dinner as it was a nice night out.

With her Mother's Day craft she made me

He sat and put rocks on the slide for over 10 minutes- he loved it!
On Wednesday, Amelia went to the day home, so it was just Gabe and I. We went to Superstore, and that's pretty much it.

On Thursday, Amelia had a dentist appointment in the morning. Brian's mom came down the night before to watch Gabe for me, which was great! I had visions of him destroying the office while I held Amelia down because she was crying, haha. Luckily, she did great! No tears and she let them clean her teeth. I treated her to McDonald's for lunch since she was so good!

On Friday, we had a quiet morning before we went to the clinic to weigh Gabe and then to the library. Amelia made a friend there who was the same age. It was cute watching them play so well together! In the afternoon, we made some muffins and hung out. Brian went biking that night with Justin, so I had a quiet night to myself once the kids were in bed.

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed on Saturday, so Brian took the kids for most of the morning and afternoon. It was much needed and appreciated! We spent lots of time outside since it was so nice out. Once the kids were in bed, I left for a run. I thought it was going to be about 6kms, but ended up being almost 9kms! Good thing it was a gorgeous evening out.

Sunday was Mother's Day, and it was a wonderful day! We spent pretty much the whole day outside, and it was awesome! While Gabe had his morning nap, we played in the backyard with our neighbours. Once we was up, we packed up and biked from our house to Bowness Park. We played, threw rocks in the river, and had a picnic lunch before biking back home. Brian made a delicious steak dinner to top off the day.

Our dog is weird
