{baby d 2.0}: week thirty eight and thirty nine

39w1d
Feeling: pretty darn pregnant these days! Though, still trying not to complain because overall it's been a great pregnancy. I laugh when random people ask when I am due and I say this weekend and they can't believe it. I feel big, but maybe I'm not as big as I thought? My belly button is sure out and can't hide it!

38 weeks

I've been super tired the last week or so even though I have no problems sleeping at night. Luckily, I'm done work so have been having daily afternoon naps.

Big ol' naked belly
Other:
  • car seat and bases are officially in the vehicles!
  • baby laundry is done and mostly put away. A change station is set up in our room (easier for changing in the middle of the night since Amelia will be in her room and my mom in the spare room). I forgot how teeny, tiny the clothes are!
  • hospital bag is half packed. So far I have: towels, shampoo/conditioner, outfits, diapers, wipes, paperwork. Need to add: nursing bras, comfy pants, sandals, water bottle and snacks. What am I forgetting?
  • had an appointment last Tuesday and my belly was only measuring 37cms. She didn't seem too concerned, so we will see what it's measuring today. I know I was measuring small the last week with Amelia and I was sent for an ultrasound that I never made it to (I went into labour before it). Heart rate was still good.
  • I think Amelia is starting to realize that something is about to change. She is ALL about me lately and only wants me in her room at bed time (she tells me to sit down after I put her in her crib). I'm worried how she will handle me being gone to the hospital, but hopefully grandma being here will help.
  • starting to feel emotional about everything- when will I go into labour? What will it be like? Will it be faster than Amelia's? How am the heck am I going to handle having two kids?!

  5. I think you look amazing and you do look like your belly is on the smaller side - but YOU are on the smaller side as a person so it makes sense :) So excited for you!

  7. Ok, I started to leave a comment and then something happened and it disappeared! So if you get 2 comments from me, and one is partial, that's why! When I texted you last night, I was hoping you wouldn't respond because you were in labor! I hope the baby comes very soon! You do look great! I feel like the last couple of weeks of pregnancy would be agonizing because you are SO CLOSE and just really ready to meet the baby and have them safely here. And that feeling that it could happen any minute would just make me even more ready for the baby to arrive!

Did you decorate a nursery for the baby? if so, have you shared pictures? I don't think you did but my mind has been so scattered this year with wedding planning!

  8. You're in the homestretch now!!! I love the popped belly button. I never got that either. I would highly recommend taking your own pillow to the hospital! Kids are so intuitive - she for sure knows something is up, she just has no idea how big that something is, haha! We used to joke, when I was pregnant, that Sully was in for a rude awakening when the baby came! And we weren't wrong about that hahaha. ;)
