Scenes from the week + end

Happy Monday everyone! We had a quiet weekend full of potty training, which thankfully went way better this time!

{monday}: I don't remember what we did in the morning, but I know in the afternoon the kids had a very rare dual nap. That meant I also got one which was fabulous! That night, Brian went to a concert with Justin, so his co-worker came over to "watch" (they were in bed already) the kids while I went to my workout class.

Someone woke up early and fell asleep in our bed just after 7am
{tuesday}: I signed Amelia up for another session of her class, so she went to that in the morning. While she was at the class, I ran to the Running Room to look for a new sports bra. Gabe ended up falling asleep right after we left, so I took the long way back to pick up Amelia. The rest of the day was spent hanging out at home.

{wednesday}: Amelia was at the day home, so after we dropped her off, we came home and I had a nap while Gabe had his morning nap. After his nap, we did some cleaning around the house before heading to a baby and mom barre class with Nicole + Henry. It was a good class and Gabe was happy the whole time, which makes working out easier. After class, we stopped to pick up a Christmas gift for my dad before heading home.

{thursday} I honestly can't remember what the heck we did all day. I know when Gabe was napping, Amelia and I made some instant snow that she loved! It went everywhere, but kept her busy for at least 30 minutes which is a win in my book!

{friday} to start the day, there was an absolutely beautiful sunrise!

After Gabe's morning nap, we packed up and headed way down south to check out the Spruce Meadows Christmas market. I had seen a couple people post on Instagram about it, so thought we might as well it was the weather was nice. There wasn't much for kids to do, but Amelia loved seeing the reindeer and horses. I also let her pick out an ornament for our tree, and she was excited to show Brian when we got home.

{saturday + sunday} both were pretty quiet days as we spent both of them at home potty training Amelia. It went so much better this time, but made for a long weekend inside. On Sunday, I took Harley for a run to get outside since the weather was beautiful for November.

Tell me: how was your weekend?

Five on Friday

Happy Friday everyone! Any big plans for your weekend? We are diving back into potty training this weekend, so wish us luck.

{one} I haven't been doing much reading lately, but I did pick up and finish two books last weekend from the library. Both were young adult books (don't judge) and were pretty good. I read The Sun is Also a Star and Wild Bird. What should I read next?

{two} I've been looking at Black Friday deals and really want this garmin. Do I need it? Definitely not. But, it's so pretty. And I still haven't picked out something for birthday gift from Brian. Tell me I don't need it. And maybe it will encourage me to get back out there running. I've had zero motivation to run lately, but did go last night and it felt good. I need to suck it up and go while it's cold and dark.

{three} I'm almost done Christmas shopping, which feels good. Just need to get things wrapped to mail a couple things home. And pick up a couple things for Amelia's stocking. Do you stockings for your kids? What do you put in them?

{four} I ordered some water beads, and it came with a sample of instant snow. Yesterday morning while Gabe was napping, we tried it out and Amelia loved it! Kept her busy for at least 30 minutes yesterday and she kept asking to play with it. I'll warn you, it goes everywhere! But does clean up easy with a vacuum. You can order it here

{five} have a great weekend everyone!

Family pictures

Back in October, we had a totally last minute family mini session with Delle from T07 photography. I love sending out Christmas cards with a picture of us, and I was going to do them ourselves. I found out that our neighbours were doing a session with Delle and she had room after, so she squeezed us in. Thanks again Delle!

Scenes from the week + end

Happy Monday everyone! I feel like we had two not so great weekends (potty training that didn't go as planned and Brian was sick) in a row, so let's make next one better. Got that universe?

I didn't take many pictures last week, so let's see what we were up to:
  • on Monday night I went to the workout class that I signed up for at our community centre. It started the week before and I had originally signed up for a barre class. I thought this was going to be different, but it was like solely ballet moves and I have ZERO co-ordination or dance experience. Luckily, they let me switch to another one that is more circuit training which is way more my style.
  • workouts in the basement in the morning while Gabe sleeps with these crazy two kids

  •  hanging out on big sisters bed

  • on Wednesday, Gabe and I hung out at home all day. I thought about actually leaving the house, but a nap, doing some cleaning and catching up on TV sounded like a better idea

  • on Thursday, we had no plans in the morning, so our neighbour's daughter came over so she could run to an appointment. The girls had fun playing together. In the afternoon, Amelia and I played in the snow and made a quick trip to the library

  • on Friday, Amelia went to the day home (we had an extra day to use), so Gabe and I went to the mall in the morning to pick up some Christmas gifts and then took Harley for a chilly walk in the afternoon. Gabe wasn't bothered and had a good sleep all bundled up! Brian was gone for the night, so once I got the kids to bed, I watched some tv and read

  • Brian got back on Saturday morning, but wasn't feeling good, so he spent the day in bed. I had to get out of the house in the afternoon, so the kids and I went to Home Depot (Amelia played with all of the dancing/signing Christmas toys), and then to get some Timbits.

  • on Sunday, I surprised Amelia with taking her to see Disney on Ice. As soon as the music started playing and the characters came out, she was so excited! I loved watching her face. The show was 2 hours long with an intermission, and she only got a bit antsy towards the end, so she did really well.
