Weight: I took him to be weighed yesterday, and he was 17lbs 4oz. He gained a whole 0.2oz in a month! He eats like crazy, so I blame him never sitting still.

Diapers/clothes: we moved him up into size 4 baby dry diapers as he was having a crazy amount of blow outs. They are a bit big on him, but it's cut down on the blow outs.

Loves:

• eating on his own
• Amelia
• standing up in the bath
• sucking his thumb
• taking a bath

Hates:

• staying still for anything especially diaper changes
• when you put him down for a nap (he will immediately stand up in his crib and cry for a minute or two)

Eating: two big changes in the last month- 1) I'm no longer breast feeding, so he gets formula. He has 4-5 bottles a day taking between 120-200mLs. My supply was not great, and it was just causing me too much stress. Yes I still feel guilty about it, but it's not the end of the world. 2) we aren't doing pouches anymore, and are doing baby led weaning instead. He had a bad diaper rash, which we thought the pouches were adding to it, so stopped them. He's gotten so good at feeding himself and absolutely loves it! There isn't much that he doesn't like. He especially loves watermelon, cheese, blueberries. He's had shrimp, chicken, pork, and steak. 

Sleeping: it's gotten better lately. He goes to bed around 7pm and is usually up between 6-6:30am. He will wake up earlier than that, but will usually fall back asleep. He naps 3 times a day (with the occasional day of having only two naps depending on how long his naps are).

Other:

• he figured out how to clap and was so proud of himself!

Scenes from the week + end

Happy Monday everyone! We had a quiet weekend with zero plans, which was kind of nice. Let's see what we were up to this week + end:

It felt like spring outside on Monday and Tuesday, so we spent a lot of time enjoying the sunshine! Took a trip to the snowy park, splashed in puddles, went for walks, scooter rides, and colouring with chalk.

 

Amelia has been letting me and asking me to do her hair in braids lately, so of course I had to take a picture after her class on Tuesday!

I found these eggs at Wal-Mart and figured they'd be good for ten minutes of entertainment ;)

Thursday brought the return of snow and Amelia wanted to go outside so badly, so out we went. Our weather is crazy!

On Friday, we made at trip to the library. It was actually pretty quiet, which was nice. The last few times have been super busy.

Saturday and Sunday were pretty quiet- we spent most of the time hanging out at home playing, and doing some cleaning. On Sunday, I went to the new YMCA to run on the treadmill because it was crappy out.

The Original St.Patrick's Day Road Race: race report

 
On Sunday, I ran The Original St.Patrick's Day Road Race for my first time. I had originally signed up to run the 10k, but decided to drop down to the 5k after my training wasn't that great thanks to all of the cold and snow. 

Race package pick up was super easy as I was volunteering on the Friday night at it. It was held at the Strides store in Marda Loop, and seemed like everyone who came to pick up their packages were in and out within 10 minutes max.  The packages included: your bib, long sleeve t-shirt, samples of face cleanser, oatmeal, and a bar. 

The race started at 9:20am on Sunday (but felt way earlier thanks to the time change). I got there around 8:45am and parked on the street close by, but there was lots of parking available at the high school. I headed inside as it was a bit chilly that morning. Close to the race start, I headed outside and before I knew it, we were off! Going into the race, I had hoped to run it in around 28 minutes and run the entire thing. There were a couple small hills that made me want to take a quick walk break, but I knew I would struggle to get going again. My splits ended up being: 5:41, 5:16, 5:09, 5:12, 5:07. Finishing time was 26:53, which was good enough for 3rd in my age group and 21st overall. Pretty darn happy with that! 

After the race, I headed into the school to grab some food and help out with awards and beer draw. For everyone signed up for the race, you got to enter your name in to win your weight in beer (they picked one guy and one girl). I think the guy ended up taking home close to 100 bottles of beer, which is pretty sweet!

Scenes from the week + end

Happy Monday everyone! It's been a while since I've sat down to a week + end recap. I've been too busy reading (I share all the books I read on my IG stories if you are ever looking for a new one!) once the kids go to bed to blog lately.

My mom was here visiting last week until Thursday, so we enjoyed our grandma time! We went to the library, went to Vivo to the parent and tot drop in, played in the snow, did crafts, and had fun. Of course the time went by way too quickly!

The weather has been warming up and the sun is hanging around longer in the evenings, so Amelia and I have been playing outside a lot after dinner. I can't wait for spring!

On Friday, the kids and I had a quiet day at home. We took Harley for a walk and then just hung out around the house. In the late afternoon, I headed out to volunteer at the package pick up for the St Patrick's Day race. 

 

Brian and Justin went biking on Saturday morning, so the kids and I took Harley for a walk (can you tell I've been missing getting outside lots?) and then hung out at home. In the afternoon, I took Harley for another short walk (the morning one wasn't long) and then ran to pick up a few things we needed.

On Sunday morning, I ran the St. Patrick's day race in the morning - will share more on it later this week! It was a good race and went better than I expected in terms of my time. I got home around lunch, and Brian took Amelia to run a couple errands. I figured walking Harley was better in the sunshine then after the kids went to bed, so off I went with Gabe. Need a good workout? Push a chariot with snow on the pathways and a dog around your waist. Amelia boycotted her afternoon nap, so we went outside to blow bubbles, ride her scooter and play with the neighbours (it was 3-4C out). 

Such style, I know ;)
